Why Is My Water Heater Not Producing Hot Water?
Hard Water Sediment Buildup
Our region is known for hard water. Over time, calcium and magnesium deposits settle at the bottom of the tank. This sediment creates a barrier between the burner and the water, leading to inefficient heating or a total lack of hot water. Regular flushing is essential to prevent this.
Pilot Light or Ignition Issues
For gas heaters, a draft or a faulty thermocouple can extinguish the pilot light. If you have an electric unit, a tripped breaker or a blown heating element is likely the cause.
Component Failure and Corrosion
With pipe corrosion being a frequent local issue, internal parts of your heater—like the dip tube or anode rod—can deteriorate. A broken dip tube sends cold water straight to the faucet instead of the heating zone.
Flush your tank at least once a year to remove mineral buildup and improve heating efficiency.
